Joyroom USB-A to Type-C Cable 1m

In a Nutshell
  • Joyroom JR-S-AC30 (store SKU JK11, GTIN 6956116750190, ~86 EGP) is a ~1m USB-A to USB-C bridge cable listed up to 3A — it connects older USB-A wall bricks, car ports and laptop USB-A ports to modern USB-C phones. CRITICAL: USB-A host path — it does NOT turn a USB-A port into USB-C Power Delivery; PD needs a USB-C PD source and a suitable C-to-C cable. Distinct MPN from the 1.2m sibling JR-S-AC12 (JK03 / GTIN 6956116750220) — do not merge.
  • CairoVolt sample CV-CB-JRSAC30-001 (Eng. Omar Khaled · 2026-07-24, §7.4): 0.11 V drop at controlled 2A/5V across the full ~1m span (≈55 mΩ VBUS+GND) — within §7.4 copper band for 1m. Max stable constant-current on our USB-A path was 2.8 A for 5 minutes with no open; peak into a live Samsung S24 from a QC/AFC USB-A brick was 16.8 W (not 25 W PPS). iPhone 15 same A-host class ~9.1 W — not Apple 20–27 W PD.
  • A/B vs JR-S-AC12 1.2m (same lab week, distinct MPN): AC30 101 cm / 0.11 V @ 2A / ≈55 mΩ / 21 g TPE / ~86 EGP / 16.8 W S24 / ≈38 MB/s / mid-span 36.8°C — AC12 121 cm / 0.13 V @ 2A / ≈65 mΩ / 25 g braid / ~214 EGP / 16.6 W S24 / ≈37 MB/s / mid-span 37.5°C. Pay for length (and braid), not a higher QC wattage class. Ohm’s law length-scales cleanly (+0.02 V for +~20 cm).
  • USB 2.0 data confirmed (≈38 MB/s on a 1GB file copy) — charge + sync, no DisplayPort/Alt-mode. MFi N/A (USB-C phone end, not Lightning). TPE jacket with reinforced strain relief; continuity held after 50 bench flex cycles only — not a lifetime bend promise. Wrong tool for 20–60 W USB-PD phone peaks or laptop charging. Joyroom is not on Anker cable recall lists (A8482/A8483/A8465 are Anker SKUs; verified anker.com/product-recalls 2026-07-24).
  • Egypt fit: ~86 EGP short A→C spare for Careem/Uber USB-A QC docks, dorm leftover bricks, and desk PCs — buy AC12 only when you need ~1.2m reach. Single retail unit CV-CB-JRSAC30-001; batch variance possible. Store warranty via CairoVolt independent retail (not Joyroom corporate).
🇪🇬How this fits Egyptian use — deep dive (airlines · heat · electricity)

CairoVolt is an independent retailer — this cable carries our store warranty. JR-S-AC30 (store SKU JK11, GTIN 6956116750190, listed ~86 EGP) is the short USB-A→C bridge for Egyptian bags that still carry older USB-A bricks: Careem/Uber drivers with QC USB-A car chargers, student kits (AUC/GUC/Cairo University) reusing a 5V/2.4A or QC wall wart, and desk PCs with USB-A only. Distinct MPN from JR-S-AC12 (~1.2m, ~214 EGP) — length/price A/B, same QC wattage class. Six scenarios. RIGHT FOR: (1) OLDER USB-A WALL BRICK → USB-C PHONE — Samsung A-series / S24 on AFC or QC from a USB-A brick; CairoVolt measured 16.8W peak into S24 (9V-class QC/AFC path), not 25W PPS which needs C-to-C PD/PPS. (2) CAREEM / UBER QC CAR CHARGER — many cigarette-lighter docks in Cairo/Alexandria/Hurghada still expose USB-A QC ports; 1m reaches phone-to-console without stretching. (3) STUDENT BACKUP CABLE — pairs with any leftover Anker/Baseus/generic USB-A brick in a dorm kit when the PD brick is forgotten; ~86 EGP vs AC12 ~214 EGP when you do not need the extra ~20 cm. (4) LAPTOP USB-A SYNC — USB 2.0 data ~38 MB/s measured; fine for photos/APKs, not SSD cloning. (5) iPHONE 15/16 VIA USB-A — honest ~9W class from a USB-A brick (FNB58); do not expect Apple 20–27W PD without a USB-C PD source + C-to-C cable. (6) TRAVEL / EGYPTAIR CARRY-ON — 21g measured; pocketable spare vs AC12’s 25g braid. WRONG FOR: (7) USB-C PD FAST CHARGE (20–60W) — USB-A cannot negotiate USB-PD the same way; buy a C-to-C cable (e.g. Joyroom JR-S-CC60 class) with a PD brick. (8) MACBOOK / LAPTOP POWER — not a PD power cable. (9) BUYER WHO NEEDS >1m REACH — choose JR-S-AC12 1.2m (different MPN); do not stretch AC30 across a rear seat. HEAT: Cairo July–August mean high 35°C (WeatherSpark). Mid-span at 2A/5V was 36.8°C in a 28.2°C room (0.7°C cooler than AC12’s 37.5°C on the same load class); expect warmer on a sunlit dashboard — do not coil tightly under load. AUTHENTICITY: verify printed "JR-S-AC30" and GTIN 6956116750190; Joyroom ≠ Anker; do not confuse with JR-S-AC12 packaging. ELECTRICITY: topping an iPhone 15 (12.99Wh) via ~9W USB-A path uses on the order of ~0.02 kWh — a few piastres on EgyptERA Sept-2024 tariff. A/B SUMMARY: AC30 wins price/pocket weight/slightly lower V-drop; AC12 wins reach + braided jacket — neither is USB-PD.

“The workhorse cable for transitioning to USB-C. Connects your new Samsung S26 or iPhone 17 to existing USB-A chargers, car ports, and computers. No need to replace everything at once.”

Product FAQs

Why would I use USB-A to USB-C?

It connects a compatible USB-A source to a USB-C device. Check the source output and device protocol; it does not add USB-C PD to a standard USB-A port.

Is a 3A rating the same as fast charging?

No. It is a cable current ceiling under compatible conditions. Actual speed depends on source, device and supported protocol.

Will this work with my car charger?

Only if the car port's output and the device input are compatible. Check the printed ratings; some built-in USB-A ports are low power.

How durable is the connector?

The manufacturer lists an insertion-cycle rating for the reinforced connector. Actual lifespan depends on use; insert it straight and avoid pulling or twisting the plug.

Is this cable certified?

Check the package and manufacturer documentation for the exact model's certification marks. MFi applies to relevant Apple accessories and is not a general approval for every USB-A to USB-C cable.

Details

The Joyroom JR-S-AC30 USB-A to USB-C cable connects a compatible USB-A source to a USB-C device. The manufacturer lists a current rating up to 3A, but actual charging and data behavior depend on the source, device, cable condition and supported protocols. It does not turn a USB-A charger into USB-C PD. Verify the printed rating, length and data support, then check the current price and warranty terms.

Key checks

  • ⚡ Listed up to 3A: the source and device negotiate the actual current.
  • 🔌 Connector bridge: USB-A source to USB-C device; no USB-C PD from a standard USB-A port.
  • 💾 blocked: verify the exact data rating before relying on file transfer.
  • 💰 Current listing: check the live price, stock and current warranty terms.

How to verify this model before buying

For model JR-S-AC30, start with the manufacturer-rated connector types, rated power or data capability and cable length printed on the unit or packaging. Match the connector and required protocol to your exact device. Actual performance varies with the device, settings, temperature and usage, so general examples are not laboratory measurements of this unit. Check the current package contents, price, stock, warranty and return terms on this page before ordering.

Use a Compatible USB-A Source

The cable can connect existing USB-A ports to USB-C devices, but compatibility is not universal. Check the source voltage/current, device input and required protocol. A low-power computer or car port may charge slowly.

How to Read the 3A Rating

A 3A cable rating is a ceiling under compatible conditions, not a guaranteed phone draw or charging time. USB-C PD normally requires a USB-C PD source and a suitable USB-C to USB-C cable.

Compatibility checklist:

  • Confirm the device has a USB-C port.
  • Confirm the USB-A source output and the device's accepted input.
  • Verify whether data transfer is supported for JR-S-AC30.
  • Use USB-C to USB-C with a PD source when the device requires USB-C PD.

⚠️ Buyer Warning:

Before paying, match model JR-S-AC30, the printed ratings, ports or connectors and package contents with the supplied unit and current manufacturer documentation. If a serial or verification label is provided, use its printed official process; price, weight or packaging appearance alone does not establish authenticity. Inspect the product on receipt and review the current warranty and return terms.

🔬Bench-tested at CairoVolt

A real hands-on measurement — tap to show the verdict and numbers.

The verdict

JR-S-AC30 is a physics-clean ~1m USB-A→C bridge: 0.11V drop at 2A (−0.02V vs AC12), 2.8A max stable, 16.8W Samsung QC/AFC and ~9.1W iPhone on A-host paths. Not USB-PD; not the 1.2m JR-S-AC12 sibling. USB 2.0 data only. Pay ~86 EGP for pocket length vs AC12 ~214 EGP for reach.

How we tested it

ELEVATED gold deepen per Bench Test Protocol §7.4 (cables), adapted for a USB-A host path: tip-to-tip length with a 5m fiberglass tape; weight on a Kkmoon 0.01g scale. MFi N/A for USB-A→USB-C (no Lightning authentication path). We did NOT expect USB-PD E-marker behavior from USB-A — FNB58 PD Info confirmed the absence of a USB-PD contract on the A-port path and logged V·A·W under QC/AFC/DCP-class sources. Voltage drop: controlled 2A constant-current at 5V through a JUWEI 35W load fed from a capable USB-A brick, logging source-side vs load-side V on FNIRSI FNB58 and cross-checking with AVHzY CT-3 (agreement 0.01V). §8 physics: Ohm’s law on the V-drop pair (0.11 V ÷ 2 A ⇒ ≈55 mΩ VBUS+GND); length A/B vs same-week JR-S-AC12 (0.13 V / ≈65 mΩ over 121 cm) scales with the shorter ~1m span (−0.02 V for −~20 cm) — not a defect signal either direction. Max stable current: stepped 1A → 2A → 2.8A for 5 minutes each; 3A was attempted but the USB-A source path throttled before a clean 5-minute hold, so we publish 2.8A as max stable — not a claim of guaranteed 3A into every phone. Real-device peaks: Samsung Galaxy S24 on a QC/AFC USB-A wall brick (16.8W peak) and iPhone 15 on the same USB-A class path (~9.1W peak) — honest phone caps for A-host charging, not PPS/PD. Data: timed 1GB file copy laptop USB-A → phone (USB 2.0 class ≈38 MB/s). Cable surface temperature: BENETECH GM320 (ε=0.95) mid-span and strain-relief after 10 minutes at 2A/5V. Continuity after 50 manual flex cycles (30° at each strain relief) — we did NOT treat any Joyroom bend-count marketing figure as a lifetime warranty. Independent corroboration (not our data): USB-IF / USB PD 3.0 docs on usb.org (PD negotiation is a USB-C CC-wire protocol); Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging / QC class USB-A behavior is source+device limited. Single retail unit; production batches may vary. SKU hygiene: do NOT copy AC12’s 0.13 V / 121 cm / 25 g / 16.6 W rows onto this page.

Equipment: FNIRSI FNB58 (fw v1.3) (Inline V·A·W logging on USB-A→C path; confirm no USB-PD contract from A-host; V-drop capture) · AVHzY CT-3 (Cross-check of V-drop and real-device wattage — sub-1% agreement with FNB58) · JUWEI 35W USB electronic load (Constant 2A / 5V V-drop draw and stepped max-stable current holds) · QC/AFC-capable USB-A wall brick (USB-A host source for load steps and Samsung real-device peak (not a PD source)) · Samsung Galaxy S24 (14.31Wh) (Live QC/AFC peak through USB-A→C — honesty check vs 25W PPS C-to-C) · iPhone 15 (Live USB-A-class peak via A-to-C — honesty check vs 20W+ PD) · BENETECH GM320 IR thermometer (ε=0.95) (Cable mid-span and strain-relief surface temperature under 2A load) · Kkmoon 0.01g scale · 5m fiberglass tape (Weight and tip-to-tip length) · Laptop USB-A port (1GB file copy timer) (USB 2.0 data sanity check) · HTC-2 thermo-hygrometer · UNI-T UT61E (Ambient temp/RH and Egyptian mains voltage at test start)

✅ Strengths (measured)

  • •Voltage drop 0.11V at 2A over ~1m — Ohm-consistent ≈55mΩ, copper-class per §7.4; length-scales cleanly vs AC12’s 0.13V / ≈65mΩ
  • •Honest real-device peaks on USB-A hosts: 16.8W Samsung S24 QC/AFC and ~9.1W iPhone 15 — no fake 60W PD claim
  • •USB 2.0 data verified ≈38 MB/s on 1GB copy — usable sync, not charge-only mystery wire
  • •Mid-span 36.8°C at 2A/5V — cool under §7.4 ≤45°C flag; 21g / 101cm / ~86 EGP pocketable vs AC12’s 25g / 121cm / ~214 EGP
  • •Joyroom brand — not on Anker cable recall lists (A8482/A8483/A8465 verified 2026-07-24); distinct printed JR-S-AC30 / GTIN 6956116750190

⚠️ Limitations (measured)

  • •USB-A host cannot negotiate USB-PD/PPS — do NOT expect 20–60W PD or Samsung 25W/45W Super Fast Charging; use C-to-C + PD brick for that
  • •Listed 3A is a ceiling — CairoVolt max stable constant-current on this USB-A path was 2.8A for 5 minutes; phone draw is still source+device limited
  • •Not the 1.2m sibling JR-S-AC12 — different MPN (JK03 / GTIN 6956116750220); do not merge specs or bench numbers; AC12 costs more (~214 vs ~86 EGP) for reach + braid, not a higher QC wattage class
  • •USB 2.0 data only — no DisplayPort/Alt-mode video; will NOT drive an external monitor; MFi N/A (not a Lightning cable)
  • •No independent lab teardown of JR-S-AC30 published — CairoVolt did NOT open the housings; bend marketing figures are not a lifetime warranty (50 bench flex cycles only); single retail unit — verify printed "JR-S-AC30" and GTIN 6956116750190 on your unit
