Joyroom USB-C to Lightning Cable | Listed 20W PD | Braided
In a Nutshell
- Joyroom JR-S-CL20 (store SKU JK08, GTIN 6956116750091, ~118 EGP) is a 1.2m braided USB-C→Lightning cable listed up to 20W USB-PD for Lightning iPhones (8–14 / SE) and Lightning iPads. CairoVolt is an independent retailer; the cable carries our store warranty.
- MFi honesty first: opened sample CV-CB-JRSCL20-001 carried Joyroom branding + a 20W listing — no Apple “Made for iPhone” / MFi logo. On FNIRSI FNB58 the Lightning-end auth response was NOT confirmed as a genuine Apple C-series IC (contrast Anker SureIStrong A8652H21 same lab week). iOS showed “This accessory may not be supported” on iPhone 13. Treat any MFi claim as vendor-stated until your package proves otherwise.
- Electricals (instrumented): tip-to-tip 121 cm (5m fiberglass tape); weight 21 g (Kkmoon 0.01g). V-drop at controlled 5V/2A: 0.15 V (≈75 mΩ VBUS+GND) on FNB58, AVHzY CT-3 ±0.01 V. Peak into iPhone 13 via Anker A2147 30W PD: 18.9 W (FNB58 @ 9.01 V / 2.10 A) — inside Apple’s ~20–27 W wired ceiling (MacRumors).
- PD ~20W class vs USB-A JR-S-AL24 (gold sibling CV-CB-JRSAL24-001): CL20 negotiated 9V PD and hit 18.9 W; AL24 stays on USB-A ~5V / ~2.4A rails at 11.6 W (FNB58) — different connector family, different power class. Do not buy AL24 expecting “20W fast charge.”
- A/B vs Anker SureIStrong A8652H21 (CV-CB-A8652H21-001): electricals close (18.9 W vs 19.5 W; 0.15 V/1.2m vs 0.17 V/1.8m @ 5V/2A) — Anker wins verified MFi / silent iOS; Joyroom wins price + braided 1.2m bag fit. Mid-span 36.4°C after 10 min @ 5V/2A (GM320, ambient 28.5°C). USB 2.0 only. Not for iPhone 15/16/17. Not on Anker recall lists (Joyroom brand — checked anker.com/product-recalls 2026-07-24).
How this fits Egyptian use — deep dive (airlines · heat · electricity)
CairoVolt is an independent retailer — this cable carries our store warranty. JR-S-CL20 (JK08, GTIN 6956116750091, ~118 EGP) is the budget braided USB-C→Lightning answer for Egypt’s still-large Lightning iPhone base (iPhone 8–14, SE 2020/2022, Lightning iPads). Do not confuse with JR-S-AL24 (USB-A→Lightning ~12W TPE) or JR-S-CL30B (different Lightning braid MPN). Six scenarios. RIGHT FOR: (1) LIGHTNING iPHONE DAILY DRIVER ON A BUDGET — Apple caps wired peak at ~20–27W (MacRumors); we measured 18.9W into iPhone 13 via A2147 30W PD (FNB58), close to Anker A8652H21’s 19.5W on the same brick — the phone is the ceiling when PD negotiates. (2) STUDENT / SHARED-HOUSE SPARE at ~118 EGP — braided jacket resists bag abrasion better than AL24’s glossy TPE; replaceable without hesitation. (3) CAREEM / UBER DRIVER with a USB-C car charger (Anker A2741 30W / A2732 35W / Joyroom car charger) — 1.2m reaches cigarette lighter → phone in the passenger seat. (4) LIGHTNING iPad 9th gen at AUC/GUC/Cairo University — pairs with a 20–30W PD brick for a normal session. (5) FAMILY HOUSEHOLD drawer cable for Lightning AirPods cases and older Lightning iPads. (6) TRAVEL / EGYPTAIR CARRY-ON — 21g measured (0.01g scale); drops into any pocket. WRONG FOR: (7) BUYER WHO NEEDS CONFIRMED APPLE MFi — our sample had no MFi packaging mark; iOS showed the accessory warning; buy Anker A8652H21 / A8612H11 if silent iOS acceptance matters. (8) iPHONE 15 / 16 / 17 — USB-C native; use Joyroom JR-S-CC60 or Anker A8865-class USB-C to USB-C. (9) BUYER STUCK ON USB-A WALL BRICKS who expects 20W — USB-A Lightning (AL24) caps ~11.6W; you need a USB-C PD brick + this CL20 (or A8652) for the ~19W class. (10) MacBook / USB-C iPad Pro — Lightning cannot deliver laptop-class PD. HEAT: Cairo July–August mean high 35°C (WeatherSpark). Mid-span at 5V/2A was 36.4°C (GM320) in a 28.5°C room — fine at Lightning-class current; keep cables shaded on a Cairo dashboard. AUTHENTICITY: check printed “JR-S-CL20” on the housing and GTIN 6956116750091 on the packaging; do not assume MFi from the Joyroom logo alone. ELECTRICITY: fully charging an iPhone 13 (12.41 Wh) from a 20W wall brick via this cable uses ≈0.017 kWh — under 4 piastres on the EgyptERA Sept-2024 tariff. CROSS-SKU / CROSS-BRAND A/B (same lab week): vs JR-S-AL24 — CL20 = 18.9W PD / 0.15V@2A / 1.2m braid / ~118 EGP; AL24 = 11.6W USB-A / 0.13V@2A / ~1m TPE / ~43 EGP — different power class. vs Anker SureIStrong A8652H21 — Joyroom = shorter (1.2m vs 1.8m), braided vs soft-touch, cheaper, electricals close (18.9W vs 19.5W; 0.15V/1.2m vs 0.17V/1.8m @ 5V/2A) — Anker wins on verified MFi / silent iOS acceptance.
