Joyroom USB-C to Lightning Braided Cable
Bottom Line
- Joyroom JR-S-CL30B (store SKU JK02, GTIN 6956116750121, ~214 EGP) is a 1.2m double-braided nylon USB-C to Lightning cable with aluminum connector shells, listed for USB-PD into Lightning iPhones (8–14 and SE) and Lightning iPads. CairoVolt is an independent retailer; the cable carries our store warranty. Not the USB-C→USB-C JR-S-CL30 (30W PD sibling) — different connector family.
- MFi honesty first (§7.4): opened sample CV-CB-JRSCL30B-001 carried Joyroom branding and a USB-PD listing — no Apple “Made for iPhone” / MFi logo. On FNIRSI FNB58 the Lightning-end authentication response was NOT confirmed as a genuine Apple C-series IC the way Anker A8652H21 was. iOS showed “This accessory may not be supported” during the first charge session on iPhone 13. Treat any MFi claim as vendor-stated until your unit’s packaging proves otherwise — same honesty bar as JR-S-CL20 / JR-S-CL36M.
- Electricals (instrumented, Eng. Omar Khaled · 2026-07-24): tip-to-tip 122 cm (5m fiberglass tape); weight 24 g (Kkmoon 0.01g scale). Voltage drop at controlled 5V/2A across the full span: 0.14 V (≈70 mΩ VBUS+GND) on FNB58, cross-checked AVHzY CT-3 (±0.01 V) — within §7.4 band for a 1.2m Lightning cable at 2A. Peak into iPhone 13 via Anker A2147 30W PD: 19.1 W (FNB58 @ 9.02 V / 2.12 A) — inside Apple’s ~20–27 W wired ceiling (MacRumors).
- A/B (do not merge): vs JR-S-CL20 — 18.9 W / 0.15 V @ 2A / 121 cm / 21 g / ~118 EGP (lighter braid class). vs JR-S-CL36M — 19.0 W / 0.15 V / 120 cm / 22 g / ~131 EGP (“36mos” = warranty listing, not watts). vs JR-S-CL24M — ~123 EGP / 24-month listing / 1m listed — not instrumented 2026-07-24; do not invent electrical superiority. vs Anker A8652H21 — 19.5 W / verified MFi / 1.8m. CL30B’s differentiator is double-braid + aluminum shells at ~214 EGP — not a warranty-month SKU and not C-to-C.
- Mid-span surface temp after 10 min at 5V/2A: 35.8°C (BENETECH GM320, ε=0.95) in a 28.3°C room — within §7.4 safe band at Lightning-class current. USB 2.0 data only (480 Mbps). Not for iPhone 15/16/17 (USB-C native). Not on Anker cable recall lists (Joyroom ≠ Anker — A8482/A8483/A8465 checked at anker.com/product-recalls 2026-07-24). CairoVolt store warranty.
How this fits Egyptian use — deep dive (airlines · heat · electricity)
CairoVolt is an independent retailer — this cable carries our store warranty. JR-S-CL30B is Joyroom’s double-braided + aluminum-shell USB-C→Lightning answer for Egypt’s still-large Lightning iPhone base (iPhone 8–14, SE 2020/2022, Lightning iPads) at ~214 EGP. Do not confuse with JR-S-CL30 (USB-C→USB-C 30W) or the cheaper braided JR-S-CL20. Six scenarios. RIGHT FOR: (1) LIGHTNING iPHONE DAILY DRIVER WHO WANTS A TOUGHER JACKET — Apple caps wired peak at ~20–27W (MacRumors); we measured 19.1W into iPhone 13 via A2147 30W PD (FNB58), between JR-S-CL20’s 18.9W and Anker A8652H21’s 19.5W on the same brick class — the phone is the gate when PD negotiates. (2) BAG / POCKET ABUSE — double-braided nylon + aluminum shells resist zipper abrasion better than glossy TPE; at ~214 EGP still replaceable without drama. (3) CAREEM / UBER DRIVER with a USB-C car charger (Anker A2741 30W / A2732 35W / Joyroom car charger) — 1.2m reaches cigarette lighter → phone in the passenger seat. (4) LIGHTNING iPad 9th gen at AUC/GUC/Cairo University — pairs with a 20–30W PD brick for a normal session. (5) FAMILY HOUSEHOLD drawer cable for Lightning AirPods cases and older Lightning iPads when a braided finish is preferred. (6) TRAVEL / EGYPTAIR CARRY-ON — 24g measured (0.01g scale); drops into any pocket. WRONG FOR: (7) BUYER WHO NEEDS CONFIRMED APPLE MFi — our sample had no MFi packaging mark; iOS showed the accessory warning; buy Anker A8652H21 / A8612H11 if silent iOS acceptance matters. (8) iPHONE 15 / 16 / 17 — USB-C native; use Joyroom JR-S-CC60 or Anker A8865-class USB-C to USB-C. (9) MacBook / USB-C iPad Pro — Lightning cannot deliver laptop-class PD. (10) BUYER WHO WANTED JR-S-CL30 C-to-C — wrong connector pair; CL30 is USB-C→USB-C 30W. HEAT: Cairo July–August mean high 35°C (WeatherSpark). Mid-span at 5V/2A was 35.8°C (GM320) in a 28.3°C room — fine at Lightning-class current; keep cables shaded on a Cairo dashboard. AUTHENTICITY: check printed “JR-S-CL30B” on the housing and GTIN 6956116750121 on the packaging; do not assume MFi from the Joyroom logo or the aluminum shells alone. ELECTRICITY: fully charging an iPhone 13 (12.41 Wh) from a 20W wall brick via this cable uses ≈0.017 kWh — under 4 piastres on the EgyptERA Sept-2024 tariff. SAME-BRAND + CROSS-BRAND A/B (same lab week): vs JR-S-CL20 — CL30B is heavier (24g vs 21g), similar length (122 vs 121 cm), slightly lower V-drop (0.14V vs 0.15V @ 5V/2A), similar peak (19.1W vs 18.9W), same MFi honesty (neither sample verified). vs Anker A8652H21 — Anker wins verified MFi / silent iOS and 1.8m reach; Joyroom CL30B wins double-braid bag toughness and ~214 EGP vs premium soft-touch.
