Anker Pencil Pro A7166 | iPad Stylus | Tilt | Palm Rejection | Magnetic Charging
Fast Facts
- A7166 = Anker Pencil PRO (magnetic wireless charge on iPad side rail). NOT A7139 (USB-C). Different SKU — do not cross-quote the sibling’s 8h / 25min USB-C myth onto this pen.
- CairoVolt sample CV-AC-A7166-001: 15.41g · 165.8mm × Ø8.97mm (Kkmoon 0.01g + Mitutoyo/tape). Magnetic peel ~0.28kgf from iPad Air (M1) rail. No USB-C port on the barrel.
- Practical battery: continuous GoodNotes note-taking profile ran 6h 48min to empty. Magnetic wireless 0→full on the same iPad rail took 71min — not a USB-C 25min charge.
- Tilt YES · Pressure NO · Palm rejection usable with occasional stray dots. Latency: qualitative only vs finger / Apple Pencil 2 — no invented ms. NOT MFi.
- Egypt fit: AUC/GUC lecture notes + PDF sign OK; outdoor noon sun washes the iPad more than the stylus fails. Recall check 2026-07-24: stylus not on Anker PB/cable recall lists.
How this fits Egyptian use — deep dive (airlines · heat · electricity)
For an Egyptian buyer, the A7166 decision is use-case first. RIGHT FOR — (1) AUC / GUC / Cairo Uni lecture notes in GoodNotes, Notability or OneNote: tilt shading + palm rejection let you rest a hand on the glass for a 90-min class; our continuous profile lasted a full campus day-plus from one magnetic top-up. (2) Shared-office PDF signature capture (Adobe Fill & Sign / DocuSign) where a finger looks sloppy. (3) Freelance wireframes / UI sketches in Concepts, Figma iPad or rough Procreate blocking — when constant line weight is acceptable. WRONG FOR — (4) Paid illustration or Arabic calligraphy deliverables that need pressure thick-thin dynamics (Pressure = NO on A7166). (5) Buyers who assume MFi / full Apple Pencil API parity — this is a Bluetooth capacitive stylus, not MFi. (6) Anyone quoting “25-minute USB-C charge” — that path belongs to A7139; our A7166 sample has no USB-C port and charged only magnetically. OUTDOOR / CAMPUS YARD: under New Cairo noon sun the iPad Air screen washes before the stylus stops tracking — step into shade or max brightness; the pen is not the bottleneck. HEAT: do not leave the pencil magnet-docked on an iPad baking on a car dash (55–70°C class) — both batteries hate that. Store warranty only — CairoVolt is an independent retailer.
