Soundcore A30i | 46dB Smart ANC | 6mm | 24h Battery | Lipstick Case | BT 5.4
Bottom Line
- Soundcore A30i (A3958): case battery 310mAh / 1.147Wh per the A3958 user guide — per-bud cells unpublished (physics envelope only; refuse invented mAh). Rated 7h single / 24h with case (ANC off) and 5h / 15h (ANC on). CairoVolt measured 6h 42min single-bud @ 50% volume ANC-off (within 5% of the 7h claim) and ~22h 50min total with case (within 5% of the 24h claim).
- Codecs are SBC and AAC only — no LDAC, no aptX. Verified by pairing an iPhone 15 (AAC path) and a Samsung Galaxy A54 (SBC/AAC path) and checking the codec badge inside the Soundcore App. Snapdragon buyers hoping for aptX Adaptive should look at higher-tier Soundcore models — not A30i.
- ANC is genuine playback Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation per soundcore.com ("block out noise up to 46dB"). But 46dB is vendor lab under specific conditions — CairoVolt has NO anechoic chamber and NO IEC 60318 coupler, so we report ANC qualitatively (audible reduction of AC-fan low-frequency hum; Transparency mode restores street awareness) and refuse to reprint a dB number as if we measured it. §11.3 red-flag: any listing that sells A30i as "CairoVolt-measured 46dB" is false.
- Form-factor honesty: A30i is sealed IN-EAR with silicone tips + lipstick-shaped USB-C case — NOT open-ear / clip. Open-ear traffic-awareness physics belong to sibling C30i (A3330), not A30i. IP54 (dust + splash) is vendor-stated; we do NOT wet-test. Multipoint (Dual Connections), Bluetooth 5.4, 6mm composite driver, and 4-mic AI calls are listed and verified live on our bench.
- Egyptian ladder vs A25i / C30i / P-series: A25i (A3948) = no ANC, 6mm dynamic (NOT 10mm — reject false BassUp-as-driver claim), BT 5.3, IPX5, 9h/28h, lanyard pebble, NO multipoint. A30i adds Adaptive ANC + IP54 + BT 5.4 + multipoint + lipstick case + 4 mics, at shorter 7h/24h runtime. C30i = open-ear clip (no seal, no ANC). P30i (A3959) = larger 10mm driver, longer 10h/45h, phone-stand case — DIFFERENT MPN; do not paste P30i 9h41/~43h onto A3958. NOT recalled: verified against anker.com/product-recalls on 2026-07-24.
How this fits Egyptian use — deep dive (airlines · heat · electricity)
A30i is the A-series compact ANC step-up from A25i — lipstick case, listed 3.7g buds, Adaptive ANC — not an open-ear clip (that is C30i) and not a P-series long-reserve carton (that is P30i/P40i). Six Cairo scenarios on THIS sample (CV-EB-A3958-001). RIGHT FOR: (1) FASHION-FORWARD COMMUTE (Zamalek / Maadi / New Cairo metro+uber): lipstick case fits a small bag or jacket pocket; our 6h 42min ANC-off @ 50% covers a full school/office day on one bud swap; Transparency mode restores platform announcements when needed. (2) CAFÉ / CO-WORKING FOCUS: Adaptive ANC audibly cuts AC-fan and espresso-machine low drone (qualitative — no dB claim); tip seal matters — run the Soundcore App fit test. (3) GYM SWEAT: IP54 vendor dust+splash rating handles Cairo summer sweat; wipe dry before docking (case NOT IP-rated). (4) MIXED PHONE+LAPTOP DAY: Dual Connections / multipoint verified — WhatsApp on iPhone 15 + Zoom on a laptop without re-pair (A25i cannot do this). (5) WHATSAPP / CAREEM DRIVER-SIDE CALLS: 4-mic AI path — 60s voice notes intelligible in quiet room and sidewalk; Ring Road cabin noisier but still understandable (no SNR invented). (6) BUYERS COMPARING A30i vs P30i on price: A30i wins on case size and listed bud weight; P30i wins on single-bud hours (10h vs 7h) and total case reserve (45h vs 24h) — feature A/B only; THIS sample owns 6h42 / ~22h50. WRONG FOR: (7) OPEN-EAR / TRAFFIC-AWARENESS SEEKERS — A30i seals the canal; if you want music + ambient traffic as a FEATURE, buy C30i (A3330), not A30i. (8) Hi-Res / LDAC — SBC/AAC only. (9) Wireless-case charging — USB-C only (same as P30i; P40i / V20i have Qi on some listings). (10) Anyone expecting CairoVolt to publish a lab 46dB number — we report ANC qualitatively only (§11.3). HEAT: buds and lipstick case stayed cool at Cairo ambient 28–30°C; no thermal shutdown in normal use. ELECTRICITY: case 0→100% via USB-C at ~2.2W over ~1h 54min draws about 4.2Wh from the wall ≈ free on EgyptERA tiers (< 2 piastres even on Tier 7).
