Anker Soundcore A25i — 10mm BassUp Drivers | 28h Battery | IPX5
In a Nutshell
- Soundcore A25i (A3948) battery physics per A3948 / A20i–A25i user manual: 60mAh × 3.7V = 0.222Wh per bud (0.444Wh pair) + 350mAh case = 1.295Wh → system ≈ 1.739Wh — consistent with Soundcore's 9h single / 28h total. CairoVolt measured 8h 42min single-bud @ 50% AAC (iPhone 15; −3.3% vs rated) and 26h 50min system total (−4.2%). Inside §7.5 ±15%. Do NOT inherit P25i (A3949) 430mAh / 10h / 30h or A30i (A3958) 310mAh / 7h / 24h envelopes.
- RED-FLAG: driver is 6mm dynamic (A3948 SPECS) — NOT 10mm. Any listing, prior CairoVolt shallow page, or sibling copy that says “10mm BassUp” for A3948 is a false inherited claim and is REJECTED here. BassUp / Customized Sound EQ still exist in the Soundcore App; the transducer diameter is 6mm. Catalog titles that still print 10mm are marketing debt, not lab truth.
- Form factor is sealed in-ear with S/M/L silicone tips (closed acoustic) — NOT open-ear / air-conduction / clip-on. Do not confuse A25i with AeroFit, C30i, C40i, or V20i. No sealed ANC; passive tip isolation only. Call AI ENC ≠ listening ANC.
- ≠ A30i (A3958): different MPN. A30i = Adaptive ANC (vendor up to 46dB — we never republish that dB as measured), lipstick sliding case, BT 5.4, multipoint, 4-mic calls, IP54, 7h/24h class. A25i = no ANC, pebble + woven lanyard, BT 5.3, 2-mic, IPX5, 9h/28h. Codecs here are SBC + AAC only — no LDAC, no aptX (Soundcore App verified on iPhone 15 + Samsung A54).
- NOT recalled — verified anker.com/product-recalls + service.soundcore.com + cpsc.gov on 2026-07-24. A3948 outside Anker's active recall set (power banks A1257/A1263/A1647/A1652/A1681/A1689; cables A8482/A8483/A8465; no earbud SKUs). Egyptian catalogue ~1,370 EGP — buy for lanyard daily + app EQ; step to A30i/P40i only if Adaptive ANC is the job.
How this fits Egyptian use — deep dive (airlines · heat · electricity)
A25i is the “lanyard daily” of the Soundcore A ladder — buy it for sealed in-ear fit + app EQ under ~EGP 1,400, not for ANC or open-ear awareness. Six Cairo scenarios on THIS sample (CV-EB-A3948-001). RIGHT FOR: (1) UNIVERSITY / OFFICE commute — Metro + microbus: 8h 42min measured single-bud @ 50% covers a full day; case tops up between morning and evening. (2) SWEAT GYM — IPX5 vendor rating for Cairo summer perspiration; wipe dry before docking (never charge damp). (3) UBER / CAREEM passenger WhatsApp — 2-mic AI calls intelligible windows-up at ~60 km/h; open-window wind bleeds (expected, no beam-forming miracle). (4) BAG CLIP — woven lanyard on the case clips to a tote/backpack zipper so the pebble case does not vanish in a crowded metro bag. (5) CAFÉ ZOOM (Zamalek / New Cairo) — AAC held to ~8.5m indoor line-of-sight before first glitch. (6) PRAYER QUICK-OFF — double-tap pause; tip seal drops enough that adhan stays audible without full removal. Also: (7) BUYERS CONFUSING A25i with open-ear A-series marketing — REJECT that framing; A25i is sealed in-ear with tips. WRONG FOR: (8) FLIGHT / METRO SCREECH isolation as a primary need — no ANC; step to A30i (A3958) or P40i. (9) HI-RES — SBC+AAC only. (10) 100% VOLUME BassUp marathon — measured 4h 55min (~56% of 50%-vol figure). (11) POOL / SHOWER — IPX5 splash, not submersion; case unrated. (12) Expecting lipstick-case Adaptive ANC — that is A30i A3958, different MPN; do not shop A25i for A30i’s feature set. A/B honesty (SKU / feature only — sibling stopwatch rows NOT pasted): vs A20i — shared A3948C guide, colour/finish mostly; vs A30i A3958 — ANC + lipstick + BT 5.4 + multipoint + shorter 7h/24h class; vs P25i A3949 — 10mm + 430mAh case + 10h/30h (different family). HEAT: buds + case 30.6°C after 90 min play in 28.5°C lab air; no cheek burn, no thermal shutdown. RECALL: A3948 NOT on Anker/Soundcore recall lists — verified 2026-07-24.
