Samsung S26 Ultra 45W Charger — Does It Support Real Super Fast Charging? The Surprise: 60W

Samsung S26 Ultra supports 60W, not just 45W — most people don't know. Super Fast Charging 2.0 vs 3.0 explained + best charger in Egypt with real numbers.

In short: Surprise: Samsung S26 Ultra supports 60W Super Fast Charging 3.0 — not just 45W. With a 60W+ charger supporting PD 3.0 + PPS and a 5A cable, it charges 0→50% in 15-17 minutes, 0→100% in 45-50 minutes. A 45W charger still works well (0→50% in 22 min). Critical requirement: the charger MUST support PPS — without it you get only 15W even from a 100W charger. Best pick: Anker Nano 45W (799 EGP) — triggers Super Fast Charging instantly.

May 24, 20267 min readCairoVolt Team

You just bought a Samsung S26 Ultra for 65,000 EGP. You open the box. The phone comes out. The earbuds come out... actually, they don't. The cable comes out. And that is it. No charger. Samsung says "we love the environment" — and you love your phone being charged. So you search for a 45W charger because "that is what the phone supports." And right there, the misinformation begins.

Because the Samsung S26 Ultra does not max out at 45W. It supports 60W. Yes, 60 watts. Samsung calls it Super Fast Charging 3.0 — a new generation beyond the 2.0 standard in the S25 and S24. But almost nobody in Egypt talks about this difference. In this article, we explain the real difference between 25W, 45W, and 60W, the exact requirements for fast charging to actually work, and the best charger you can buy in Egypt without paying 1,500 EGP to Samsung.

💡 Quick Answer: Samsung S26 Ultra supports 60W Super Fast Charging 3.0 — not just 45W. With a 60W+ charger supporting PD 3.0 + PPS and a 5A cable: 0→50% in 15-17 minutes, 0→100% in 45-50 minutes. A 45W charger works fine too (0→50% in 22 min). The only requirement: charger MUST support PPS — without it you get 15W even from a 100W charger. Best pick in Egypt: Anker Nano 45W (799 EGP).

🔬 CairoVolt Data — May 2026:

We sold 1,200+ chargers to Samsung S26 users in the last 4 months. 62% of customers thought the phone only supports 45W — they were surprised to learn it goes to 60W. Top seller: Anker Nano 45W (48% of sales) then Anker Nano 45W Smart Display (22%). The most common reason Super Fast Charging fails to activate: the cable is not 5A rated (41% of cases).

Super Fast Charging 2.0 vs 3.0 — The Numbers

Samsung has 3 tiers of fast charging — each with different requirements. The problem is their names are confusingly similar:

Comparison Fast Charging Super Fast 2.0 Super Fast 3.0
Max Wattage 25W 45W 60W
Supported Devices S22 / S23 / S24 / A-series S24 Ultra / S25 Ultra / S26+ S26 Ultra only
Required Protocol PD 3.0 PD 3.0 + PPS PD 3.0/3.1 + PPS
Required Cable Standard 3A 5A with e-Marker 5A with e-Marker
0→50% S26 Ultra 30 min 22 min 15-17 min
0→100% S26 Ultra 1h 10min 55 min 45-50 min
How to Verify Standard green charging circle Blue circle + "Super Fast Charging" Blue circle + "Super Fast Charging"

Table takeaway: If your S26 Ultra shows just "Charging" (no "Super Fast") when plugged in — your charger is delivering only 15W. You are losing 70% of your charging speed without even knowing it.

Why a 100W Charger Might Only Give S26 Ultra 15W — PPS Is the Secret

This confuses more people than anything else. You have a charger labeled 65W or 100W — you plug it into the S26 Ultra — and the screen says plain "Charging." Why?

Samsung does not use standard PD (Power Delivery) alone for fast charging. It requires an additional protocol called PPS — Programmable Power Supply. The difference:

  • 🔌 PD without PPS: The charger offers fixed voltages — 5V, 9V, or 20V. The phone picks the closest option. Like going to a restaurant with only three sizes — Small, Medium, and Large. If you want something between Medium and Large, too bad.
  • ⚡ PD + PPS: The charger can fine-tune voltage in 20mV (0.02V) increments and current in 50mA steps. Like a buffet where you take exactly what you need. This results in 20-30% faster charging with lower heat.

⚠️ Warning: Many chargers on OLX and Facebook labeled "65W Fast Charger" or "100W Super Charger" do NOT support PPS. When plugged into an S26 Ultra, they deliver only 15W (slower than an original 25W charger!). Before buying any charger, verify it explicitly states "PPS" or "Programmable Power Supply" — that is the single requirement that makes the difference.

Top 3 Chargers for Samsung S26 Ultra in Egypt 2026

We tested these chargers with the S26 Ultra — all trigger Super Fast Charging immediately:

Charger Power PPS 0→50% S26 Ultra Price
Anker Nano 45W 45W ✅ Yes 22 min 799 EGP
Anker Nano 45W Smart Display 45W ✅ Yes 22 min 899 EGP
Joyroom 30W PD+PPS 30W ✅ Yes 26 min 449 EGP
Random 65W (no PPS) 65W ❌ No 55+ min (15W only!) 200-400 EGP

Why is Anker Nano 45W the best? Three reasons: (1) Triggers Super Fast Charging 2.0 instantly — the blue circle appears from the first second. (2) GaN II — 34% smaller than Samsung's official charger and runs 6°C cooler (39°C vs 45°C). (3) Price — 799 EGP vs 1,500 EGP for Samsung's official charger with identical performance. The savings are enough to buy an Anker PowerLine USB-C cable 5A as well.

The Cable — The Forgotten Hero of Fast Charging

Even with the best 60W PPS charger — if the cable is wrong, you will not get more than 25W. This happens to 41% of our customers who complain that Super Fast Charging is not working:

  • ⚡ Cable must support 5A: Standard 3A cables (sometimes included in the box) limit speed to 25W. For 45W or 60W, you need a cable rated for 5 amps with an e-Marker chip inside — this chip tells the charger "I can handle high current, send it."
  • 🔌 USB-C to USB-C only: A USB-A to USB-C cable will never exceed 18W — because the USB-A standard is designed for 2.4A maximum. Both ends must be USB-C.
  • 📏 Length matters: A 2-meter cable loses 5-8% efficiency compared to a 1-meter cable. For maximum speed, a 1-1.2 meter cable is ideal. Anker PowerLine USB-C to USB-C or Joyroom Type-C to Type-C — both support 5A with e-Marker.

How to Verify Super Fast Charging Is Actually Working

Samsung makes verification easy — but you need to know what to look for:

  • 🔵 The blue circle: When you plug in and see a blue charging circle + "Super Fast Charging" text — congratulations, the charger is delivering 45W or more. If the circle is green + says "Fast Charging" or just "Charging" — you are getting 25W or less.
  • ⚙️ From settings: Settings → Battery → Charging Settings. Verify "Super Fast Charging" is enabled. If the option does not exist — your phone may not support it (A-series, for example).
  • 📊 Quick test: Plug in at 20% — if it says "Full in 45 min" or less → real fast charging. If it says "Full in 1h 30min" or more → the charger or cable does not support PPS.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a 25W charger enough for Samsung S26 Ultra, or do I need 45W or 60W?▼
A 25W charger will charge the S26 Ultra — but slowly. 0→50% takes 30 minutes vs 22 minutes with 45W or 15-17 minutes with 60W. If you charge overnight while sleeping, 25W is fine. If you need a quick morning top-up before work, go for 45W minimum.
Why does my phone say "Charging" instead of "Super Fast Charging" even with a 45W charger?▼
Two likely causes: (1) The charger does not support PPS — the most common reason. Samsung requires PPS, not just PD. (2) The cable is 3A, not 5A — a 3A cable caps speed at 25W even with a 45W charger. Solution: a charger with PPS (like Anker Nano 45W) + a USB-C to USB-C cable rated for 5A with e-Marker.
Does charging at 60W damage the S26 Ultra battery faster than 25W?▼
The difference is minimal. Samsung includes a thermal management system that automatically throttles speed if temperature rises. After two years of use, the difference in battery health between 25W and 60W charging: approximately 2-4% only. The real problem is not charging speed — it is excess heat from counterfeit chargers without protection.
Is the Anker Nano 45W better than Samsung's official 45W charger for S26 Ultra?▼
In performance — they are virtually identical (both trigger Super Fast Charging 2.0). In temperature — Anker runs 6°C cooler (39°C vs 45°C) thanks to GaN II. In size — Anker is 34% smaller. In price — 799 EGP vs 1,500 EGP for Samsung. The only advantage Samsung has: psychological comfort of it being "official" — but technically, there is no difference.
